Lots of good things going on out there—the editors of the piece linked below have a particular fondness for animals, but keep reading. Why the media doesn’t focus on more of this—it’s mostly hard news, not feel good human interest stuff--is beyond me.

This kind of positive reporting has to take hold in the U.S. or we are just going to choke ourselves into national depression and turmoil.

In the words of the late Senator John McCain, "I hope we can again rely on humility, on our need to cooperate...Stop listening to the bombastic loudmouths on the radio and television and the Internet. To hell with them. They don't want anything done for the public good. Our incapacity is their livelihood."

There are lots of problems in America and the world, but also lots and lots of good things going on, as the link below illustrates. Time to embrace the good while still working towards our individual visions of how to do better.
